Valentines, Vagabonds & Viewing ...

Still chilly here...that's all I'm going to say about the weather!!!
Valentine's Day ... cool, sunny, very pleasant. After church, big breakfast (homemade waffles, bacon. etc.) and - resting in my room, SURPRISE!! Beautiful planter with live tulips (from Molson & Copper) and a heart-shaped box of - yes, Russell Stover chocolates. Great start to an adventurous day. Had planned to go to the annual Art Festival we discovered last year; but upon arriving there, we could barely navigate the streets - parking was $20 and $30 for the day (which was half over) - every turn was a traffic jam... We decided to go on to our concert location, tour the grounds, and get in line early for good lawn seating. The place is a tropical botanic garden; and, though not as large, arrangements are on the order of Ravinia.

We took our basket, laden with sandwiches, snacks and vino...got a place dead center of the stage...and enjoyed a guy named Jon Secada that more people seemed to know than we did!! Good show, lots of laughs...homeward...

We made special note of two television viewings - start of Survivor and the Olympics...the Survivor looks like it's going to be a pretty good series - one dislocated shoulder and a broken toe - we'll see what comes up next!! Olympics speak for themselves - have to keep track of Apollo Ohno - skates again tonight (Wednesday) - hope he gets his gold!

Ummmm...finally got my coconut shrimp; plus we discovered a mountain of sumptuous coconut-coated deep fried onion rings. We ARE going back - and, they have those large Bahamaritas with the sidecars - Yes, we went to Bahama Breeze and it was delicious!! (Can't believe this is the first day of Lent and I'm already thinking of exotic foods and fruit-tainted alcoholic drinks!!)

Guess Jason & Brian made it to Fitz's to judge the jambalaya cook-off...of course, the winning entry will no way compare to theirs, right boys?? ,,, that is, if Jason made it home from his snowmobiling outing in the North Woods ... must be nice to run off anytime you want ...
For you Saints fans ... they are selling pieces of turf from Sunshine Stadium, where the Saints won their first ever Super Bowl. for $99.98 ... (why that price, I have no idea; unless they've changed it) ... and, it's only a three-inch square and freeze-dried for shipment. Takes all kinds, right?? Also for you Saints fans who could not make it to the Telander Super Bowl party; I am , hopefully, submitting a picture of the topic of the day...

LADDIE and his handcrafted Fleur-de-Leis rice krispie treats ...

Easter's coming up! Perhaps Laddie has something as original concocted for that occasion... Time will tell ...

Hang in there everyone,
Marmaduke
